Northwest Bible Baptist Church to host Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Northwest Bible Baptist Church in Elgin is hosting a "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" as part of a special 10:45 a.m. service on Sunday, Nov. 15

Police officers and their families from Elgin, South Elgin, Carpentersville, and several other Fox Valley and Northwest suburban communities, along with those of the Illinois State Police and Kane County Sheriff's Department, have been invited to this service, when special recognition and gifts will be given to them. The church will also host a special lunch for these officers and their families afterward, when they will be honored in other ways.

"Police in various parts of the country have received some negative attention in recent months," said the Rev. Dr. Gomez, Northwest's pastor of 34 years. "We want law enforcement officers in this area to know in a very personal way that the folks of our church appreciate them and their putting their lives on the line every day to protect us, our families, and our property.

"I can't speak for others," Dr. Gomez continued, "but we here at Northwest Bible Baptist Church have a deep, Bible-based respect for our law enforcement officers. We support them. We stand by them. And we pray for them!"

The church is located at 9N889 Nesler Road on the far west side of Elgin. The public is invited to join the folks of Northwest in honoring these officers and their families at this special service. For more information, call the church at (847) 695-6222, ext. 2011, or visit www.nwbbc.com.
