Few steps remain for new dog park for Crown Point
CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) - Only a few steps remain before a new dog park can open in Crown Point.
The (Munster) Times reports (http://bit.ly/20lvdwN ) the board of public works and safety has approved rules for the park. The City Council has to sign off on final approval of fees. The city plans to charge residents $60 for the first dog and $20 for each additional. For nonresidents the fee is expected to be $120, with $40 for additional canine.
Names for the park are still under consideration. One suggestion is Comiskey Bark, which Mayor David Uran says is a humorous reference to a new park in nearby St. John called Wiggley Field.
Pit bulls and pit bull mixes won't be allowed in the park. Owners will be responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
