Saturday, Oct. 31 5:00 PM Indiana National Guardsmen return from Kuwait - The 1313th Engineer Company, headquartered in Franklin hold a homecoming ceremony. Approximately 160 soldiers return to Indianapolis after having deployed to Kuwait for most of 2015. They are commanded by Capt. Christopher Eaton. The senior enlisted advisor is 1st Sgt. Benjamin Joy. The Guardsmen conducted engineering operations in Kuwait to support the ongoing drawdown of Operation Enduring Freedom

Monday, Nov. 02 3:15 PM American Legion Walk for Veterans in Franklin, IN - American Legion Walk for Veterans, led by American Legion National Commander Dale Barnett and Department of Indiana Commander Larry Lowry. Barnett is touring each state and walking in cities across the nation during his term as national commander to raise awareness for veterans' advocacy mission of The American Legion. The length of the walk is approximately 1.5 miles, starting at 66 S Water St., Franklin, winding through Downtown Franklin and ending at the same location. After the walk, Barnett and Lowry visit Legion Post 205 at at 1200 Park Ave., Franklin for dinner and a reception
