Carpentersville

• A resident on the 2200 block of Flagstone Drive reported a residential burglary about 8:30 p.m. Friday. The resident told police someone entered her house while nobody was home between 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. and took several items, including clothing, a purse, jewelry, video game systems, several video games and more than $5,000 in cash.

• Four mailboxes on the 3000 block of Shenandoah Drive were reported damaged Saturday. All four mailboxes seemed to have been hit on the left side by a blunt object, police said.

• A resident on the 0-100 block of Grove Street reported that unknown offenders shot two windows in his home with a BB gun. A report was filed at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

• Cynthia S. Davenport, of Oxford Drive in Carpentersville, was charged with retail theft that occurred about 8 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Mall, according to police reports.

• A resident of the 0-100 block of Oxford Road reported an attempted burglary occurred about 8:30 a.m. Saturday at her apartment. The apartment door had been kicked in and was broken, but the resident said nothing had been taken. A report was filed at 7:45 p.m. Sunday.
