House explodes in Muncie; evacuations but no injuries
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a house exploded in Muncie, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
TV station WISH reports (http://bit.ly/1P0ZOvS ) the blast happened just before 8 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities say the homeowner was away at the time and has since been located.
Fire Department Battalion Chief Terry Moore says the roofline of the home was "sitting on the ground." He says it's a good thing no one was inside.
Homes in several surrounding blocks were evacuated for hours.
Muncie Police Capt. Steve Cox tells the station authorities believe a natural gas leak may have been the cause. He says the gas company was on the scene Thursday night. An investigation is ongoing.
