Annual Festival of Trees fundraiser to benefit mental health services

The Ecker Center for Mental Health is pleased to announce Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon will serve as honorary chairman for the 15th annual Festival of Trees Dinner and Auction which helps raise funds for mental health services offered to clients in the center's service area.

As honorary chair, McMahon is being recognized for his work in helping establish the Kane County Mental Health Court. Following a two-week display of this year's decorated trees at Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin from Nov. 2-13, the celebration will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva.

Tickets for the event are available at www.FestofTreesElgin.org or by calling (847) 695-0484, ext. 1913. Tickets are $75 or $700 for a table of 10. RSVP by Wednesday, Nov. 4. Reservations will be held at the door.

"This year's festival will include a number of new additions including a dinner show featuring Lake Shore Jive, a fabulous a cappella ensemble from Chicago," said Kay Catlin, Ecker Center events manager. "We'll also be offering a wide array of unusual live and silent auction items including a custom painted set of Cornhole boards, works of art by local artists and more."

Fully-decorated 4- and 7-foot trees will be auctioned off as part of the festivities. Numerous local businesses, clubs, individuals and organizations are participating as tree sponsors, decorators and event funders.

"We've actually presold some of the trees. For anyone who wants an absolutely gorgeous pre-lit, fully decorated Christmas tree for their home or business, this is a great opportunity. Best of all the proceeds go to support a very worthy cause."
