Tennessee releases complete 2016 football schedule
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee will open its Southeastern Conference schedule next season by facing Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M and Alabama on consecutive weekends.
The Volunteers released their complete 2016 schedule Thursday as the SEC announced its composite schedule for next season.
Tennessee will begin the season Sept. 3 by hosting Appalachian State. The Vols follow that up by facing Virginia Tech on Sept. 10 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The Vols' schedule also includes home games with Ohio on Sept. 17, Florida on Sept. 24, Alabama on Oct. 15, Tennessee Tech on Nov. 5, Kentucky on Nov. 12 and Missouri on Nov. 19.
Tennessee's true road games are Oct. 1 at Georgia, Oct. 8 at Texas A&M, Oct. 29 at South Carolina and Nov. 26 at Vanderbilt.
Tennessee's off week is Oct. 22.
