Injured Tennessee OT Kendrick won't play against Kentucky

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee offensive tackle Brett Kendrick will miss a third straight game Saturday due to elbow and knee injuries.

Volunteers coach Butch Jones said Wednesday that Kendrick wouldn't play Saturday when Tennessee (3-4, 1-3 SEC) visits Kentucky (4-3, 2-3). Jones said there's a possibility Kendrick could return next week when the Vols host South Carolina.

Kendrick had started Tennessee's first five games at right tackle.

Defensive back Stephen Griffin also will miss the Kentucky game with an ankle injury. Griffin has made three tackles in a reserve role this season.

Jones also said the status for wide receiver Preston Williams (hamstring) and offensive guard Jashon Robertson (ankle) remains uncertain for Saturday after neither played last week in a 19-14 loss at Alabama.
