Tailgate Prophet performs his poetry at Arts in Bartlett Nov. 13

Russ Devereaux performs his poetry at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at "$5 Friday" at Arts in Bartlett's Center for the Arts, 215 S. Main St. Snacks and drinks will be served and the event is open to the public.

Devereauxis a slam poet and playwright who creates stories of social justice and personal trial incorporating drama, humor and wit. He previously partnered with Arts in Bartlett when he directed the world premiere of two of his 2012 plays, "AutoSave" and "Heaven", produced by Arts in Bartlett's Adult Theatre and to perform his poetry at the Bartlett Nature Center.

The St. Charles resident, a self-proclaimed "Tailgate Prophet," has dedicated his adult life to writing and speaking about the intangible abilities everyone has locked inside. Learn more about him and his works at the Tailgate Prophet Facebook page.
