St. Louis police ID pedestrian killed on I-70

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Authorities say a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash last weekend on Interstate 70 in St. Louis was a 23-year-old Illinois man.

Police say Dillion Dean of Granite City was walking westward in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when he was struck by a car that then sped away. A second vehicle then hit Dean as he was in the road, and a chain-reaction accident among vehicles ensued.

The accident forced the shutdown of the freeway for about four hours.

There was no immediate word Tuesday on any arrests or charges related to Dean's death.
