Knights of Columbus fulfill request of St. Joseph Home
Holy Ghost Council 4977 of Palatine, IL, following the virtue of Charity, accepted Mother Marguerite's request to add improvements to the grounds of St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly.
As Administrator of St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, Mother Marguerite was hoping for replacements of benches, Brother Knight Tom Nicholas handled the purchasing of four benches and three gliders. Brother Knights met on a Saturday morning to assemble and place the new benches and gliders.
The second step of improvements was the addition of nine trees. Tom worked closely with John Heaton, owner of Knupper Nursery, who offered the trees at an economical price.
With the help of Jerry Cole, owner of Yardworks, Etcetera, Inc., the nine trees were chosen. Various species were selected to improve the chance of survival. Brother Knights again met on a Saturday morning to assist in the digging and planting of the trees.
