Search warrant reveals details in hit and run killing of 2

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Florida court records show that a specialty license plate that read "Endless Summer," video surveillance from a neighbor's home and an eyewitness led detectives to the silver 2002 Mercedes G500 they believe struck and killed two tourists as they crossed the Clearwater Memorial Causeway.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/1W7fHQ9) reports that no one has yet been charged with a crime.

Clearwater police recovered the Mercedes from the garage of a home in northwest Hillsborough County.

Viola Flores and John Berg of Illinois were struck as they crossed the causeway on Sunday night. After they were taken to hospital, where they died, officers found part of a headlight that had purple marks, consistent with the color of Flores' purse. Investigators also discovered silver paint chips on her body.
