Des Plaines crash sends 1 to hospital

One person was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Des Plaines.

The crash happened about 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of Rand Road and Grove Avenue. The victim was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, said police, who did not know the extent of the injuries.

Rand Road was closed between Elk Boulevard and River Road for two hours while police investigated.
