Waukegan pool groundbreaking set for Oct. 27

The Waukegan Park District will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the indoor pool at Hinkston Park at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, on the north side of the Field House Sports and Fitness Center, 800 N. Baldwin Ave. The public is invited to attend. Park board commissioners, at their Oct. 20 board meeting, approved the first set of bids including the initial earth work, parking lot construction, and purchase of precast concrete. Actual construction will begin late October to early November. The projected opening is mid-September to early October. For more information, call (847) 782-3300.
