Police recover man's body from DuPage River in Shorewood

SHOREWOOD, Ill. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered from the DuPage River just outside Joliet.

Police say a fisherman discovered the body floating face up in the water and alerted authorities. The body was pulled from the river near the Route 59 bridge in Shorewood on Monday afternoon.

Police Chief Aaron Klima says the man is white and in his mid-40s. His identity is being withheld by police identity pending notification of his family.

Will County Coroner Patrick K. O'Neil says the man's death currently is listed as "suspicious." An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
