Coroner's office: 2nd driver dies after Indianapolis crash

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The second driver involved in a crash that killed an Indianapolis school principal and two students has died.

The Marion County Coroner's Office said Tuesday that 80-year-old Jack Reed's died Monday at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Police say Reed's SUV ran a red light on Indianapolis' west side on Oct. 6, crashing into an SUV driven by Indianapolis Junior Academy Principal Norris Ncube (NOO'-bay) and carrying five students. Investigators believe Reed may have suffered a medical issue prior to the crash.

The 50-year-old Ncube died at the scene. His niece, 5-year-old Malia Siziba, and son, 12-year-old Sandile Ncube, later died from their injuries.

The Indianapolis Star reports Jessica Senele Ncube, the daughter of Norris Ncube and twin sister of Sandile Ncube, remains hospitalized with injuries from the crash.
