Indiana jobless rate falls to 4.5 percent for September
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana's unemployment rate showed another small drop last month and stands at 4.5 percent.
The state Department of Workforce Development said Tuesday that Indiana's jobless mark fell by one-tenth of a percentage point in September from the month before. The national unemployment rate is higher at 5.1 percent.
The state unemployment rate has been below 5 percent since June and has been at its lowest levels since before the national recession started in 2008.
Federal figures show about 145,000 people were looking for jobs in Indiana last month.
