Halloween house tour benefits children's hospital

Three Aurora friends have turned their business savvy and their passion for Halloween into a fundraising event to benefit a the Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.

Rachel Zaccardi and Kathyrn Strater, owners of decorativeStyle, along with Gayle Winn, owner of Gayle Winn Designs, organized "Fall into the Season," a Halloween house tour and marketplace running 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23.

The tour will showcase eight homes decorated for fall and Halloween while the marketplace will feature local businesses offering handmade jewelry, skin care and makeup, home decor, lifestyle products, and gourmet food and spices.

The event begins at 2 p.m. at the Oakhurst Recreational Clubhouse, 300 S. Oakhurst Drive, Aurora. House tours are offered from 3 to 8 p.m., can be done in any order and are intended for participants to come and go at any pace. Houses will feature both interior and exterior designs and decorations. Maps will be available for tour goers.

Tour tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Marketplace admission is free. All ticket proceeds will go to the Ann and Robert Lurie Children's Hospital Foundation.
