Butler has no trouble with Davidson, wins 38-7

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Matt Shiltz completed 22 of 33 passes for 218 yards with a touchdown to lead Butler to a 38-7 victory over Davidson on Saturday.

Duvante Lane finished with 55 yards rushing and a touchdown, and John Hall added 45 more yards on the ground with a score for the Bulldogs (4-2, 2-1 Pioneer League), who ran for 221 yards and four scores.

Butler led 14-0 at the half and 21-0 late in the third quarter before Davidson finally got on the board with a 60-yard touchdown strike from Taylor Mitchell to Nick Wheeler.

The Wildcats (1-5, 0-3) got no closer however, as a Shiltz 1-yard TD run on the ensuing drive pushed the lead back to three possessions.

Mitchell threw for 201 yards and one score, and Cam Cheuvront added 103 yards receiving.
