Explore 4,000 colorful handblown glass pumpkins and other fall designs at the fourth annual Glass Pumpkin Patch at the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Route 53, Lisle. Visitors can shop and watch as artists demonstrate glassblowing and other techniques. Free with paid $9-$14 arboretum general admission. All Hallows Eve

Sci-fi symphony

Guest conductor Matthew Kraemer leads the Elgin Symphony Orchestra with the Dundee-Crown High School Chamber Choir in the concerts “Out of This World: Sci-fi Movie Classics” featuring music from films such as “Star Wars” and “Aliens” starting Friday at two locations: Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court, Schaumburg, $30-$45; then at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, Elgin, $30-$65, $10 students.
