Regent Surgical Health sets partnership in Alaska

WESTCHESTER - Regent Surgical Health announced a new ambulatory surgery center partnership in Alaska. The facility, Surgery Center of Wasilla, serves patients in the fast-growing Matanuska- Susitna Valley near Anchorage.

Surgery Center of Wasilla is the second surgery center developed by Regent in Alaska. In 2010, the company opened Surgery Center of Anchorage, a facility that is now partnered with Alaska Regional Hospital, an HCA affiliate.

The 12-physician partnership includes specialists in pain management, orthopedics, ENT, urology, podiatry, general surgery, GYN, ophthalmology and varicose vein treatment. Located about 45 miles from Anchorage, Wasilla has grown from 300 residents in 1970 to nearly 9,000 today - and with it, so has its demand for comprehensive, convenient local health care services.

"Regent is very excited about this opportunity to partner with a great group of physicians and expand access to high-quality, affordable outpatient care to the rapidly expanding community of Wasilla," Regent Vice President of Operations Anne Roberts said. "Regent's ASCs leverage the strengths of each party involved, provide physicians with significant equity opportunities and create long-lasting, patient-centric facilities for local residents."
