Outlook: After losing 3 of its last 4 games, Leyden finds itself on the brink of elimination from playoff consideration. But the Eagles hope to turn that tide against a Morton team that Leyden has defeated 12 consecutive years. Leyden's struggles offensively continued last week in their loss to Hinsdale South, as the Eagle scored late to avoid the shutout. But the Eagles defense continues to be stout, allowing on average 16.4 points.

Downers Grove South (2-5, 2-2) at Willowbrook (4-3, 3-1)Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The quick hit: While Downers South has been eliminated from playoff contention, Willowbrook can become playoff eligible with a victory and remain in the hunt for the WSC Gold title. Warriors quarterback Billy Degnan dominated last week with 6 touchdown passes.

Addison Trail (3-4, 2-3) at Proviso East (0-7, 0-4)Game time: 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The quick hit: The Blazers are on the verge of playoff elimination after last week's tough double-overtime loss to Morton. Linebackers Zach Atiyeh and lineman Matt Domek will try slowing Proviso East running back Carlton Lawrence, who scored twice last week.

Hinsdale Central (6-1) at Hinsdale South (5-2)Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The quick hit: The cross-town game arrives with both sides rolling. Keep an eye on the quarterbacks in this one. Hinsdale Central's Michael Sessa and Hornets counterpart Sean McCormack have combined for 2,800 passing yards and 30 touchdowns.

Proviso West (1-6, 0-4) at Glenbard West (7-0, 5-0)Game time: 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The quick hit: After beating three unbeaten WSC Silver foes, Glenbard West clinched its eighth straight title. The Hilltoppers' ground game gets deserved attention, but receiver Chrystian Maciorowski and tight end Adam Zybko have been steady as can be.

York (3-4, 1-3) at Downers Grove North (3-4, 0-4)Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The quick hit: Expect fierce competition with both teams nearing playoff elimination. York quarterback Johnny DiCanio was terrific last week while throwing for 106 yards and rushing for 48. Brandon Bancoro rushed for 133 yards for the Downers North.
