Bush has $13.4 million in new donations for presidential bid

WASHINGTON (AP) - Jeb Bush has raised $13.4 million in recent months as he works to win the Republican presidential nomination.

That's according to his campaign manager, who released the numbers ahead of a deadline later this week to file fundraising reports to federal regulators.

The total, raised between the beginning of July and the end of September, makes him one of the more successful summertime fundraisers in the Republican field of 15 candidates.

By comparison, Marco Rubio raised $6 million and Rand Paul $2.5 million. Ted Cruz raised $12.2 million. Ben Carson topped them all, raising $20 million through small donations. Bush ended September with about $10 million in available cash, the campaign says.

Bush benefits from a vast field of experienced fundraisers who helped his father and brother win the presidency.
