Wheeling woman accused of crashing into Arlington Hts. home charged with DUI

A Wheeling woman accused of driving into an Arlington Heights home over the weekend has been charged, police said.

JoAnne Diaz, 21, is charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence and driving with an expired license, Deputy Police Chief Andrew Whowell said.

Authorities say Diaz drove a car into a home on the 0 to 20 block of Hintz Road about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. At least three residents were home at the time, but no one was injured.
