Immanuel to celebrate Fall Festival with 'Barber of Wittenberg'

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 E. Main St. in East Dundee, invites the community to its annual Fall Festival. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, guest pastor Rev. Allan Buss, senior pastor for Immanuel Belvidere, will be sharing the message for Immanuel's midweek informal "Piano, Prayer and Preaching" worship. Midweek services are at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The festival continues at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, as the "Barber of Wittenberg," along with a cast of characters transposed from the year 1510, visit the congregation and share some insights into the time of the Reformation - as seen through the eyes of Peter Beskendorf - the real-life barber for Martin Luther, and his family.

It is a fun-filled night for the whole family. The four vignettes are intertwined with hymn singing - involving all who attend as well as Immanuel's Sacred Choir. "The Barber of Wittenberg" is free and open to the public. It will be performed in the church sanctuary aka "Village of Wittenberg."
