North Central invites community to homecoming

The Naperville community is invited to participate in North Central College's 2015 Homecoming celebration.

Among the many Homecoming festivities that are open to the community are main stage music and theater performances, a parade through campus, pep rally, football game vs. Wheaton, and reunion celebration. Events are planned Thursday to Sunday, Oct. 22 to 25.

Some activities require tickets, including Peter Frampton's "Raw, An Acoustic Tour" performance on Thursday, the free Homecoming Kickoff Concert featuring North Central's music ensembles on Friday, and singer Jonny Lang in Wentz Concert Hall on Sunday. For tickets, contact (630) 637-7469 or northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.

On Saturday, all are welcome to attend the college's Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 11 a.m. in Wentz Concert Hall. The 2015 inductees include a current coach and five alumni who competed in swimming, basketball, track and field, volleyball and cross country.

The Homecoming parade begins at 12:45 p.m. Saturday from the north side of campus at North Brainard and East School streets and proceeds south on Brainard to a pep rally in Championship Plaza.

The football game vs. Wheaton College at 2 p.m. Saturday will be an important conference matchup and fight for the Little Brass Bell, which the Cardinals intend to bring home with a victory. Tickets are $6 for adults and free to students with a valid ID and to children ages 3 and younger.

Ending the day on Saturday is the Reunion Celebration featuring dinner and dancing with a live band from 6 to 11 p.m. in the Residence Hall/Recreation Center. Four alumni will be honored for their contributions to the college and their communities. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, friends of the college and members of the community are invited.
