Federal grant for Lake Zurich

The Lake Zurich Fire Department has been awarded a $218,850 grant by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant program for the purchase of radio communication equipment. The federal grant will allow Lake Zurich to purchase 23 dual-band, portable radios and 20 single-band mobile radios. The radios will allow responding Lake Zurich firefighters the ability to continue communicating with police from the village, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods.
