Goodman seeks writers for young critics program

Goodman Theatre invites "journalistically minded and theatrically curious" high school girls in 10th and 11th grades to attend a free informational session about the Cindy Bandle Young Critics Program.

CBYC is a free, seven-month program during which Association for Women Journalists members help aspiring writers and theater professionals develop critical acumen.

The informational session takes place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn St., Chicago. Participants receive a complimentary ticket to a matinee performance of either "Disgraced" by Ayad Akhtar, running through Oct. 25, or "Feathers & Teeth" by Charise Castro Smith, running through Oct. 18, at the Goodman.

The young critics review Goodman shows and interview theater artists and staff members for feature stories under the guidance of mentors.

To RSVP, see GoodmanTheatre.org/cbycinfoworkshop or call (312) 553-7161.
