Get tickets early for Halloween Night Walks

Tickets for popular Halloween Night Walks offered by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center, 3609 Spring Road, Oak Brook.

"In celebration of the district's centennial this year, our Halloween walks will feature a theme that's never been done before for the more than 1,300 visitors who join us," said Debbi Gayon, site manager at Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center.

"Our Halloween walks have been a great family tradition for more than 30 years, with some visitors flying in from as far away as Arizona and California to join the fun."

The walks will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24, at Fullersburg Woods. During each 75-minute, family-friendly outdoor walk, a costumed guide will lead guests through the lantern-lit woods to six stage sets featuring more than 25 costumed actors. This year's theme, "2015 Oscares," will feature the best of the best amid numerous Halloween surprises, Gayon said.

"The whole family will have a spook-tacular time on this fun Halloween walk," said Forest Preserve District Commissioner Jeff Redick, District 2. "And it's a rare opportunity to experience the beauty of the forest preserves at night."

Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased in person in advance at the center with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Tickets sell quickly, so visitors are encouraged to make their purchases as early as possible for the best selection.

There is a limit of 10 tickets per person, and there are no refunds or exchanges. The center only cancels walks if weather is severe, so participants should dress appropriately. All ages are welcome, but adults must accompany all children.
