Master Pilot

On Thursday October 8, Libertyville resident Robert Lasecki will receive the prestigious Wright Brothers Master Pilot award from the Federal Aviation Administration. The award will be presented at the Experimental Aviation Association Chapter 414 meeting at the Warbird Heritage Foundation at the west side of the Waukegan Airport. Presentation will be by Carolyn Ramos, Manager of the FAA Flight Safety Team who is based at the DuPage airport. The Warbird Heritage Foundation will be open for chapter members and visitors with their impressive display of flying aircraft. The meeting is at 7pm.

Robert has been an active pilot for over 50 years. He has a commercial license and has served as a Technical Counselor for the EAA Chapter, an Angel Flight pilot, has flown approximately 350 children in the Young Eagles program, has a lifetime membership in the Commemorative Air Force with the rank of Colonel, and is a long time member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the American Bonanza Society. Bob has been serving the general aviation industry for over 25 years as President of Mitchell Aircraft products, Inc. Mitchell is located in McHenry, IL. Bob has also served as a Designee Manufacturing Inspection Representative for the FAA for the past 24 years.

Bob will receive a special plaque and a distinctive lapel pin and his wife Arlyss will receive a matching pin for her support. Bob and Arlyss currently fly a Beech Bonanza based at Kenosha. They also own a rare Cri-Cri aircraft. Prior to purchasing the Bonanza Bob was a member of Waukegan's Stick & Rudder flying club for 25 years.
