Southern Illinois beats Liberty 34-13

CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Mark Iannotti threw for 208 yards and led a balanced attack as Southern Illinois beat Liberty 34-13 on Saturday night.

Iannotti ran for a score along with Daquan Isom, Matt McIntosh and Aaron Stanton, and the Salukis (1-2) collected 255 yards rushing. Isom had 10 carries for 123 yards. His 49-yard touchdown jaunt put the Salukis up 20-3 right before halftime.

The Flames' (2-2) only lead occurred when John Lunsford hit a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead.

SIU's Austin Johnson kicked successive field goals from 37 and 30 yards to put SIU on top for good.

Liberty's Josh Woodrum was 26 for 47 for 277 yards passing. Todd Macon scored Liberty's only touchdown on a 1-yard run to make the score 27-13. He was the Flames' leading rusher with 28 yards. SIU's defense held Liberty to 2.2 yards per carry.
