Pets can get blessed Saturday in Des Plaines

St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Des Plaines will offer a pet blessing with prayers and treats at 11 a.m. Saturday, at West Park, 651 S. Wolf Road.

The next day, at the church's 10 a.m. service, pets are welcome for a special service honoring man's companions. Churchgoers also are welcome to bring photos of pets who have passed away.

"Our pets are such an important part of our lives and one of the many ways we experience God's love for us," said the Rev. M.E. Eccles in a news release.

The church is located at 1095 E. Thacker St.
