Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Música Fest Saturday

Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin, invites the public to come honor Hispanic Heritage Month with its Música Fest from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

Families and individuals are encouraged to come celebrate with employees, performers, and other locals throughout the library with live performances, children's activities, food, prize drawings, and more. Admission to enter is free, and no registration is required to attend the festivities.

"We invite everyone in the community to come to the celebration," said Tina Viglucci, Manager of Hispanic Services. "It is a chance to experience the vibrant Latin American culture. Sharing cultures is such a positive opportunity in this wonderfully diverse area."

The library will sound to the beat of the music, ranging from Andean, Afro-Caribbean Rhythms, Chinelos, and more throughout the library, while Musical Storytimes and Latino dance lessons ensue.

Hispanic Heritage Month gives Gail Borden a significant opportunity to observe a culture of the city that embraces its diversity in a great way, and invites the locals to come rejoice together.
