LOMBARD - Pernix Group has been awarded an $81.6 million dollar contract for the U.S. Embassy Berlin.
The project will involve the embassy's Clay Allée Campus and include major renovations, campus security upgrade, and Marine Security Guard Quarters fit-out project.
The site was originally constructed by the German Luftwaffe prior to World War II, and has historical significance stemming from its use as General Clay's Berlin Brigade Headquarters during the Berlin Airlift. Pernix's scope includes historical preservation and sustainability features.
"We're excited about this opportunity and pleased to continue working for the U.S. Department of State," said Nidal Z. Zayed, Pernix's CEO & president. "This award is especially momentous because our proposal was recognized by the State Department as the best value. This not only exemplifies the value we bring to our customer, but the world class performance and high standards set by our wonderful team."
Edward McSweeney, president of Pernix Federal, added the project "demonstrates clearly that Pernix is on the right path and poised to become a formidable force in the U.S. Government contracting market."
