Arlington Heights deacon will give Communion at Pope's visit

As more than a million worshippers from across the nation line up to receive Communion next week during Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia, an Arlington Heights deacon will be among those helping to give it out.

Deacon Don Grossnickle of Our Lady of the Wayside parish in Arlington Heights, will be one of hundreds of clergy moving through the crowd at the Sept. 27 Papal Mass during the World Meeting of the Families.

Grossnickle also serves as director of disability outreach for the Archdiocese of Chicago, and will be helping visitors with disabilities get comfortably situated for the Papal visit.
