Batavia High School homecoming parade steps off Wednesday
Batavia High School's homecoming parade will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at River Street, head west on Wilson, and end at Batavia High School.
Staging begins at 4:15 p.m. If there is inclement weather, the cancellation will be made at 4 p.m. and will be posted on the high school and district websites, Twitter accounts, and Facebook pages.
The homecoming game will be Friday, Sept. 18, with Batavia Bulldogs vs. St. Charles East in Bulldog Stadium. The sophomore kickoff will be at 5 p.m. and varsity kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. The 2015 homecoming court will be introduced between games in addition to the 2015 BPS Hall of Honor Inductees.
Also in between games, Ken Anderson, BHS Alum (1967) and NFL Super Bowl quarterback, will be presenting the high school with an NFL Golden Football. The NFL's Golden Football is being presented to every high school worldwide that has produced a player or coach who has appeared in a Super Bowl and commemorates the NFL's 50th anniversary.
Tickets for the BHS homecoming game are $5, $3 for students.
The homecoming dance will be 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Batavia High School. All students and their guests with an approved guest form are encouraged and invited to attend.
The Hall of Honor Celebration will begin at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1200 Main St. District 101 will welcome 14 inductees into the inaugural Hall of Honor at Batavia High School and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Batavia Foundation for Education Excellence.
The Hall of Honor was initiated by the Batavia Foundation for Educational Excellence and District 101 to promote pride in Batavia public schools and to honor alumni, faculty, and friends who have made outstanding accomplishments in their communities and personal lives since they have been associated with District 101.
At 5:30 p.m., honorees arrive with their families for unveiling of the "Hall of Honor" in the main hall of Batavia High School. Tickets are available online at BataviaFineArtsCentre.org or by calling (630) 937-8930. Tickets are $50 or $25 for age 15 and under.

• Faculty: Lisa M. Palese and Marilyn G. Robinson (deceased 2010)
• Friends: Leslie G. Hodge (deceased 1999) and Gene A. Tyrer (deceased 1992).
