Hoffman Estates runs to victory over Fremd

Hoffman Estates' boys cross country team packed together a winning effort against Fremd on Wednesday, packing together the No. 2 through 6 positions to prevail 20-35 on the 3.1-mile course at Hoover Elementary in Schaumburg.

Fremd junior Danny Peterson had the top effort, 16:30.

Jack Worman led Hoffman Estates' pack in second place at 16:47. He was followed by Matt Petersen, Shiv Patel, Bryan Gamboa and Alex Makrounis.

Palatine d. Schaumburg: The Pirates had the top eight finishers in a 15-50 decision over the Saxons. Freshman Jorge Corona, senior Zach Michael and senior Dan Trejo led the way for Palatine in 16:38 at Deer Grove East.
