Renowned storytellers spin tales in Algonquin
The library is always a good place to go for free stories.
Some of those stories came to life Sunday under a tent behind the Algonquin Area Public Library on Harnish Road.
Eight nationally renowned professional storytellers and musicians took turns performing at the free FoxTales Storytelling Festival.
"It's interesting," said Colleen Walrath of Lake in the Hills as she listened with her daughters, who were enjoying flavored ice along with the stories. "They don't know what to think about it yet."
The Algonquin Historical Commission and the McHenry County Conservation District had exhibit tables set up and historical re-enactors performed.
The free program was sponsored by the Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department, the Algonquin Area Public Library, and the Algonquin Events and Recreation Department.
