New Rosemont street will lead to restaurant, hotel
Work has begun to construct a street, at a cost of $3.2 million, that will lead to a new 16-acre mixed use development in Rosemont.
The village board Friday approved a contract with Orange Crush LLC for the project, which is a relocation of Pearl Street west to give developers a square space on which to build.
The new development will include Buddy V's Ristorante, owned by reality TV star and baker Buddy Valastro, a boutique hotel, as many as another three restaurants, plus retailers and offices. It's located across the Tri-State Tollway from the Fashion Outlets of Chicago mall. Village officials have been eyeing the space for redevelopment for at least six years, when they began buying and demolishing former light industrial buildings.
Construction on the restaurant is expected to begin by spring and be complete by the fall of 2016.
