River Road in Des Plaines to temporarily close Saturday

River Road will be temporarily closed to traffic from Oakton Street to Algonquin Road in Des Plaines from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Crews will be installing new water mains as a part of the ongoing River Road reconstruction project, city officials said.

During the closure, through traffic will be detoured via Oakton Street and Algonquin Road. Residents on Berry Lane can use River Road between Oakton Street and Whitcomb Avenue for access. Residents on River Drive can use Van Buren Avenue and Whitcomb Avenue for access.
