Hoffman Estates police, fire to face off in charity softball game

A charity softball game between Hoffman Estates' police and fire departments will take place at noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at Cannon Crossings, 1675 Nicholson Drive, near Timber Trails Elementary School.

The third annual Shootz & Ladderz Softball Fundraiser is sponsored by the Hoffman Estates Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association. All proceeds will go toward equipment for the Hoffman Estates Fire Department Citizen Fire Academy.

Though attendance is free, rally towels, water, soda, hot dogs, chips and candy will be for sale to raise money for the cause.

There also will be games for children and raffles with prizes including 7th heaven CDs and an autographed Gary Sinise package.

The rain date will be Saturday, Oct. 3.
