Stick to the facts about Bartholomew, not what 'appears' to be true

To the opinion makers at the Daily Herald. An opinion should be based on fact. In April 2014 the Des Plaines city council voted to NOT give a raise to Mike Bartholomew. NOT, based on his performance to that point.

Your written statement, "Des Plaines City Manager Mike Bartholomew appears to be doing a good job and may be entitled to his 14 percent raise" is based on what??

This really is not about Mike but your staff for expressing a sentiment that is not shared by an overwhelming majority of residents here. No one and I mean no one should get a 14 percent raise in this economy.

What were you thinking, making a statement that he "appears" to be doing a good job? Be real newspapermen, do research and report the facts. Not what appears.
