Backpacks, Blessings, and Barbecue at the Bandshell Sunday August 23

Immanuel Lutheran Church will be hosting "Backpacks, Blessings and Barbecue at the Bandshell" on Sunday, August 23 - the day before school starts! The day will include community worship with Immanuel's Praise band, a "special blessing," and a barbecue for all. Students and educators are encouraged to bring along their backpacks, totes, or briefcases to be blessed. K-9 Comfort Dogs from Lutheran Church Charities will be available for petting and hugs! Christie's Dairy delights will be there with treats!

Outdoor, casual, worship featuring Immanuel's praise band and the blessing of the backpacks begins at 10:45 a.m. and the barbecue runs from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

This event is open to the entire community and all ages!

The worship and fun will take place once again at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 E. Palatine Road, Palatine. In the event of inclement weather, the activities will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, 200 North Plum Grove Road, Palatine.
