Storm with strong winds heading south through suburbs

The National Weather Service is warning of strong thunderstorms and winds heading through McHenry and Lake counties and heading toward Cook and DuPage counties.

The latest warning is for storms carrying winds as much as 40 mph until 9:15 p.m.

The service listed a target area with Algonquin and Carpentersville to the northwest and Roselle and Bartlett to the south.
