Rauner appoints Palatine, Mundelein men to labor board

Gov. Bruce Rauner has made appointments to the state board that advises the state Department of Labor.

Rauner has made labor issues a top focus of his first months in office.

Among the new members of the Illinois Labor Advisory Board is Guy Niedorkorn of Palatine, a vice president of the Power and Utility Group at Aldridge Electric. And Mark Buisson of Mundelein is a vice president at PURE Insurance.

The posts are unpaid but reimburse members for expenses.

The leader of Illinois' biggest small-business group, the National Federation of Independent Business, was appointed to the post as well.

Kim Clarke Maisch has held that role since 1998, but Rauner appointed her to a first term on the Labor Advisory Board Friday.
