Change limits to save Social Security
Watch the Republican politicians - all of them - fight like heck to block the plan to save Social Security by simply removing the limit on paying for Social Security when you earn over $118,500 per year.
How they must love that provision in the withholding section of paychecks. But if the government would extend their Social Security payments beyond that $118,500, it would remove 66 percent of the problem facing the Social Security for all seniors, in the years to come, recognized and being discussed now.
This ridiculous self-serving cap on payments to save the program could also be dealt with in another way, which is, to end the term of Social Security payments to those upper-bracket earners, at an appropriate time (or altogether) in the same way their obligation to pay for the benefits ends at income over $118,500.
