Palatine council to reconsider church

After six councilmen voted against it in June, a plan to build a church in the site of a former golf instruction facility at 399 N. Quentin Road will be reconsidered by the Palatine village council at the Monday night meeting.

The council rejected the proposal for several reasons, including parking and traffic concerns and that the church would not generate taxes.

According to village documents, the petitioners revised their site plan, floor plan, and operation plan to address

the questions and concerns previously raised by the village council. Among the changes is an additional 73 parking spaces they will add using land that was once used to teach golf.

The council meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Palatine Police Station at 595 N. Hicks Road.
