Elgin police need help finding shooter
Elgin police are asking anyone with information about a shooting early Saturday near downtown to contact them.
After hearing gunfire, police found a 29-year-old man shot in the arm at 3:35 a.m. in the 100 block of Center Street.
The man said he got into an argument with a male stranger who pulled a gun on him.
The victim was treated for nonlife threatening injuries at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
