Naperville Gives Day coming Oct. 21

Businesses and nonprofit groups are being encouraged to sponsor or join a 24-hour blitz of fundraising on Naperville Gives Day, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Started as a collaborative effort between two Naperville charities, Naperville CARES and I Support Community, Naperville Gives is an event that encourages individuals to donate as much money as possible in support of local charities in just 24 hours.

Naperville Gives garnered almost $4,000 in donations in the first year in support of more than a dozen local nonprofits. The goal this year is to attract 1,000 donors and raise more than $10,000 to support charitable services in our area.

Beginning at midnight on Oct. 21 and continuing until 11:59 p.m., Naperville-area residents will go online to www.NapervilleGives.org, connect with causes and make tax-deductible donations to support the work of local charities. All online donations made on www.NapervilleGives.org during Naperville Gives day will go directly to support each charity's mission.

Businesses can get involved by becoming a Naperville Gives sponsor. Based on the level of sponsorship and company involvement, the business will receive a logo displayed on the homepage of the Naperville Gives website and/or recognition on Naperville Gives social media and media promotion.

Nonprofits that want to register for Naperville Gives Day enroll through a simple online registration form and receive an individual merchant account for donations to be directly deposited into the nonprofit's bank account.
