Des Plaines police investigating woman's death

Des Plaines police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old woman found unresponsive Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Police were called about 1:15 p.m. to the 1600 block of Ashland Avenue in Des Plaines to assist with an ambulance call.

When officers arrived, they found the 51-year-old unresponsive; she was pronounced dead, police said.

Des Plaines police are conducting a death investigation along with the Major Case Assistance Team.

Police did not say Saturday night whether the death was suspicious and did not immediately return calls seeking details.
